IP Telephone systems are unique in that they are the largest invention in terms of communication technology since the telephone. This special type of telephony, which makes use of an internet and specific network and phone lines. Internet telephony allows you to place calls to other IP phones with a high-speed internet connection, and also to make calls directly to mobile phones and to still be connected to the fixed network as well. Some IP telephone providers provide VoIP services free with the purchase of IP phones. Most providers however charge a low monthly fee for this service. IP telephone systems offer many distinct advantages. For starters, they are much more cost effective than conventional phone systems. If you were to compare the costs of making calls from a computer to a regular phone line versus making calls from a regular phone to an IP telephone, you will quickly see the savings. In addition, some providers allow you to take your telephone number along with you when you use internet telephony. So even if you currently do not use a phone or do not wish to use a regular telephone, you can use an IP telephone system. One of the key advantages of IP telephone systems is that they have many features which make them ideal for any type of business. With IP telephones, you can call a customer support number from anywhere with an internet connection, and you do not need a phone line or internet access itself. This is particularly beneficial to small businesses with limited or no alternate means of contact. Another key feature of an IP telephone system is that it is generally configurable so that users can add additional features, such as voicemail. Voicemail can be integrated with email, and users can configure their voicemail settings such as whether or not it automatically replies to voice messages. You can also configure any number of telephone extensions, which can be handy for multiple phone calls, long distance calls, conferences, etc. Some IP telephone systems are also capable of providing conference calling functionality. Many businesses have not yet realized the full capabilities of IP phones, and it is unknown how far they will progress in the future. Most companies that are familiar with internet protocol protocols are quite familiar with IP telephony and voice protocol. Many IP telephone companies offer voice over ip services at affordable rates and with high levels of functionality. One final consideration for your office IP telephone system is the quality of sound. It should be noted that while a high-quality voice will be sent over an internet protocol, there is a difference between voice and IP telephony. Voice over IP telephony works by transmitting audio information over a connection such as a digital subscriber line (DSL), high-speed modem, or even a fiber optic link. The analog signal is converted to digital data by the IP telephone and then sent over the Internet to the IP users, who will then be able to view the phone conversation on their personal computer or other IP enabled device. For this reason, voice over IP telephone systems may not be suitable for small offices. See more here: https://youtu.be/Hpl7sLJTwyg.
